MBDL is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, and is one of the leaders in Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) and beer products. The company was established in 1982. The operation is family owned by the Nandhagopals and manufactures spirits, beers, glass bottles, power, sugar, and bagasse. When formed this was a technical collaboration with the New Delhi based Mohan Meakin Limited (MML), pioneers in the liquor industry with an experience of more than 150 years dating back to 1855. Worth noting from the company’s production are the following brandy, vodka, and beers: Vorion 6000, Old Napoleon, Goldfinch, Madras Pilsner, and Golden Eagle.

Shoba was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She married Natarajan Nandhagopal and subsequently gained professional experience in the MBDL operations. She served as a Director in MBDL prior to relocating to California in 2011. She’s driven to results as a goal oriented executive with more than ten years of management and controller experience in distribution and service industries. Her primary roles at Nandha Wines are to launch, manage, and direct the business.

Rory Q. Lynch’s educational, business and traveling experiences taught him the responsibilities and joys of being a citizen of the world. Born and raised in Western Sonoma County wine country on his family’s apple ranch, he grew up amidst hard working farm laborers and people who loved the land. He completed his B.S. in accounting and marketing at Sonoma State University that set the foundation for a life’s work blending the land and finance. Rory was previously the Director of Finance and Export Sales at Terra Valentine Winery in Saint Helena for six years. After meeting the Nandhagopal family he transitioned his wine industry career to execute the operation of Nandha Wines in Napa Valley.

Matthew S. Mendis is Managing Director and co-founder of C-Quest Capital, LLC, a carbon finance firm based in Washington, DC. CQC originates carbon assets and trade aggressively in the rapidly growing global and niche carbon markets. Mr. Mendis is responsible for deal origination and equity investments. Mr. Mendis has been actively involved in clean energy project development and finance for the past 25 years and in over 45 countries around the globe. In such capacities he was introduced to the Nandhagopals in India and has worked closely for them as an advisor on multiple business projects.

Robert J. Macfarlane co-founded Mira International in Napa, California, in 1987 along with Garry Jacobs. As a management consultant he has worked with companies and business associations in a wide range of industries, both nationally and internationally. He is also a co-author of “The Vital Corporation: How American Companies Large and Small Double Profits in Two Years or Less.” In addition to his work with companies, Macfarlane has over 25 years of experience working as a consultant on international development issues in Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. He served as the Treasurer of the International Commission on Peace and Food and co-authored the Commissions’ report, Uncommon Opportunities. He is Treasurer and Senior Research Fellow at the Mother’s Service Society, Pondicherry, India since 1974 where he has pioneered innovative strategies for economic development. While residing in India for 20 years he established a professional relationship with the Nandhagopal family and continues to collaborate on business developments from the Napa Valley.
